Today I'll show you the materials you will need to make your own version of JCrew's Dangling Pearl Necklace. It retails for $68. Product page is here.

The goods you'll need
Materials
1. 15 headpins. I'm using gold-filled that are 0.029 x 1.5"
2. Gold beads. I'm using gold-filled 2mm beads. Looks like JCrew's are a rounded-square-shape, but I'm just going with round ones.
3. Round-nosed pinchers
4. Bent-tip pliers
5. Scissors, always handy
6. Ruler
7. Wire cutters
8. Griffin bead cord, with built-in needle
9. Jumprings! And a spring clasp if you wish to double-wrap.
10. Approx. 36" worth of glass or plastic pearls, 10mm diameter, + 15 for the "dangling" ones. I'm using plastic. JCrew uses slightly larger ones for the danglers, but I'm using 10mm and it looks fine. Perhaps not as beautifully proportioned as JCrew's, but they get the job done :)
11. 72" of fine gold-plated/gold-filled chain of your choice
Below is a closeup of some of the itsy-pieces, I realize they may be difficult to see in the other image.

Part 2 of the tutorial coming soon! I ran out of gold beads, so have to make a run to the store before I can finish it up. Will post the finished product some time over the weekend. :)

Awesome!!! I can't wait to see it!
Ditto here!! One of these days, I am really going to try this!
Thank you for the indo. May I ask how much the supplies cost? I'm wondering if the difference in cost between the two versions would be worth it. Thanks, again. I've never made jewelry so I would be starting from scratch.
